TMI Tag

Too many apologies this week but once again I'm sorry I didn't upload on Friday, I've had a really busy and rather stressful week and just haven't had the time to upload as regularly as I'd like. My posts may be slightly irregular over the next few weeks as I have a lot of coursework and other college work at the moment so I'll try my best to get some written and published but just as a warning in case I don't manage to. Another apology is for the fact that I haven't done a monthly favourites this month, I did start one but it had about three things on which didn't seem big enough for a post so I've decided to combine February and March at the end of next month instead.

Apologies over- I've seen a few people doing the TMI tag recently and it looked really interesting and fun to do so I thought I'd try it myself.

Top Ten TV Shows

Sorry there were no new blog posts last week, I had run out of posts and had a lot of other commitments which made it difficult to find the time to write some, so rather than try and rush something, I decided to just give myself a week off from the blog but I'm back this week with my Top Ten TV Shows (in no particular order).

Pretty Little Liars- I have been loving this program for about 4 years now and have become very attached to the story line and the characters. So far, I'm not a massive fan of 6B as I think the plot at the moment is pretty much identical to when A first started tormenting the girls except they have jobs and new haircuts. However, I do still love the show and I'm just hoping it picks back up with some new twists and turns like the show I know and love.
How I Met Your Mother- I spent a lot of my free time in February watching all 9 seasons of How I Met Your Mother and regret none of it. Whilst all of the characters annoyed me at some point or another (and often repeatedly), apart from Tracy, I love them overall and find the show rather amusing to watch.
The Big Bang Theory- Another sitcom I enjoy watching simply for it's humour and amusing plots and characters.
How To Get Away With Murder- As I mentioned in my January Favourites, How To Get Away With Murder rose to the top of my TV show love list. It's full of plot twists, intriguing characters and a story line that has you constantly on edge and trying to piece together the clues. I highly recommend this show to anybody who enjoys mysteries and/or dramas.
Under The Dome- If it wasn't for season three this would probably be at the top or joint top of my list as the first two seasons had me hooked like nothing else. Once I started the first episode of a season, I spent all of my free time watching the show until I finished the season and watched the first season in a day and the second in two days. I still watched season three very quickly, in about two or three days but I didn't enjoy it as much as I felt like the plot took a confusing path that didn't really tie up that many loose ends but instead caused more questions and had a pretty big cliffhanger of an ending.
Eye Candy- An amazing mystery, thriller, crime drama that I would happily watch more of if there were more seasons available. It wasn't the most unpredictable of endings but overall it contained a fair few twists and exciting story lines.
Friends- The classic TV show that most people love and pretty much everyone is familiar with. I remember watching the odd Friends episode as a child when my brother and I used to go into my parent's room on a Sunday and we'd all watch an episode or two in bed. However, since entering adolescence, I've loved the show even more, particularly after I got the box set for Christmas one year and watched all of the episodes in order. I love the characters and their humour but my favourite will always be Chandler with his sarcastic comments.
Vicious- Another sitcom full of wit and dry humour which greatly appeals to me. This show is also the only British TV show in this list as I generally tend to prefer American sitcoms and dramas to British ones.
Melissa & Joey- Like Vicious, the dry humour between the main characters in this show makes me laugh a lot which helps this show make it to my favourites. I also love Melissa's style and frequently find myself admiring and wanting her dresses.
Scream Queens- A show combining humour, horror and an amazing cast had to make it into my favourites. Even though the humour made it more horror-comedy than horror with some comedy in it which I usually dislike, I actually loved this show and pretty much everything about it.

Beauty Wishlist

After watching a number of hauls, browsing the makeup stands and online window shopping, I have created a wishlist of all the beauty products I most want to buy and try at the moment, some of which I hope to purchase in the near future when I can afford to do so (which may not be so near!). You will probably recognise a lot of these from Gabby and Zoe's recent videos which seemed to be the main inspiration for this post.

1. Sleek Vintage Romance Palette: This palette has a number of purple, cranberry and gold shades which I really love at the moment and from what I have heard, the shadows seem to be of a high quality as well as an affordable price. x
2. Colourpop Liquid Lipstick: I have heard so many wonderful things about the liquid lipsticks which of course has made me want to try them out for myself. They seem like an easier way of applying lipstick neatly whilst mattifying so that they last a lot longer but are still more hydrating than the majority of lipsticks. x
3. Fleur Loves 3/4 Lashes: Another product I have heard a lot about are these lashes which look gorgeous in all tutorials and all makeup looks I've seen. I like the fact that I wouldn't need to cut the lashes and they look quite natural as far as false lashes go but still add a lovely touch to an eye look. x
4. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer: This concealer seems to have a buildable high coverage which blends well and hopefully doesn't feel too heavy on your face which are the qualities I most like in a concealer. x
5. Benefit Watts Up: Whilst I love the Benefit High Beam highlighter, I wanted to try a highlighter stick and this shade not only looks gorgeous in photos and videos, but I also love the fact that it has a liquid to powder formula which gives a finish that I usually prefer to just a liquid product. x
6. No7 Instant Radiance: Having said I'd like to try the Benefit Watts Up, whilst browsing the product and reading some reviews, I saw a couple of people mention that the No 7 Instant Radiance is a good dupe for it and based on images, it looks a very similar shade but is a fraction of the price. x
7. MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation: I have never tried any MAC products and I've never been that bothered about trying them but recently with my skin not being in the best condition, I've been wanting a high coverage foundation that lasts a long time which, according to a number of vloggers and bloggers, this one seems to be. x
8. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: This setting spray has been featured in so many videos recently and since I lost my old setting spray (I can't remember which brand it was), I could do with trying a new one and what better one to try than the Urban Decay All Nighter? x
9. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation: Like with the MAC studio fix, I have never tried any Charlotte Tilbury products but this seems meet all of my foundation needs or wants and has some great reviews which has made me eager to try it out for myself. x
10. Benefit Benebalm: I tried the Benebalm after getting a mini one in my Hoola kit for Christmas and it has fast become one of my favourite lip products; it's hydrating, has a great colour payoff and looks lovely and glossy. I would love to get a full sized version of this lip balm, particularly as it works nicely with the Benetint. x
11. L'Oreal Infallible Primer: I really need a new primer and whilst I like the one I use now, I think there are better ones out there and after hearing numerous positive reviews about the L'Oreal primer, I would really like to give it a try for myself. x
12. Benefit They're Real Mascara: Another product I received a mini version of in the Hoola kit and like the Benebalm, it has become one of my favourite products but for my eyes. It works really well at lengthening the lashes whilst giving them a bit of volume. It still doesn't quite beat the L'Oreal Superstar False Lash mascara but it does come a close second. x
13. L'Oreal Superstar Superliner: I lost this eyeliner last month and haven't had the opportunity to replace it yet but as soon as I am able to buy it, this product will be back in my makeup collection and into my makeup routine. x
14. Tanya Burr Lipgloss: Surprisingly I haven't tried any of Tanya's makeup products yet but the products I most want to try are her lipglosses which once again have multiple positive reviews and always look lovely when people include it in their tutorials or daily makeup routines. x

Are there any products you are lusting after at the moment?

Top Ten YouTubers

Like many people, I spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos and whilst I love watching a number of different channels, the following are my favourite ten to watch, although it was very close with some of the others. They aren't in any particular order and whilst a couple have been a favourite for a while, a couple are new to the list even if I'm not new to their channel.

1. Danisnotonfire- I find Dan's videos hilarious and always have. His rather dry sense of humour and abundance of sarcasm cracks me up and makes me thoroughly enjoy his videos, many of which I have watched multiple times. He also has some brilliant 'danecdotes' that I love to listen to.
2. iiSuperwomanii- Whilst I have been subscribed to Lilly's channel for several months, I have fallen in love with it since December when I binged watched more videos than I can count. Lilly always seems so hard working and produces amazing content that always makes me laugh. I also loved watching her on Jimmy Fallon recently.
3. Zoella- Zoe's videos are always lovely to watch as she uploads some really useful beauty videos as well as tips on things such as anxiety. I also enjoy watching her hauls and collabs which always make me want to buy new things (possibly not the best video I could watch) and makes me smile or laugh.
4. Velvetgh0st- If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know how much I love Gabby's channel. Her hauls once again make me want to go out and buy lots of things, her tutorials make me want to buy new makeup and/or try new makeup looks, many of her videos make me laugh, they always cheer me up and I love to watch her vlogs which are always interesting to watch even when she's not really doing much that day.
5. SprinkleofGlitter- Another YouTuber that I've mentioned a number of times in various blog posts. Louise's videos always make me smile or laugh (or occasionally cry depending on the topic) and I love the personality that comes across in her videos. I particularly love the way she helps raise awareness of important issues which helps teach both Darcy and her viewers the small things that can be done to make a difference to people's lives.
6. Jack Howard and Jack and Dean- I know these are two separate channels but I love Jack and Dean's channel as they produce hilarious sketches that I have watched and rewatched many times and still thoroughly enjoy. I especially love the sarcasm and dry humour they often showcase, the style of which is also found in Jack's videos on his own channel. I find his videos very amusing to watch but also like that he uploads some slightly different videos to the ones you typically find.
7. Jenna Marbles- I first enjoyed Jenna's videos a couple of years ago but after a while I went off them however, I recently rediscovered her videos and found them really entertaining and funny, which obviously resulted in me binge watching lots of her videos and her channel making it into my top ten channels.
8. Olan Rogers- If you haven't ever watched a video of Olan's, may I recommend you watch either of these two (The Comeback Kid or The Package Delivery) as they are my personal favourites and are videos I frequently return to for a good laugh. His stories themselves are pretty great but the way he tells them puts them on a whole new level of amusement.
9. Hello Katy- I've found Katy's recent videos in particular really interesting and comforting to watch as she often uploads videos where she just chats through her thoughts and often I can really relate to them. There are many occasions where I've been watching one of her videos and have been comforted to see somebody else express the same thoughts and feelings as myself or even put my thoughts into words and functioning sentences. As well as enjoying the more rambly, chatty videos, I also love any of the others she uploads, particularly the ones she has done around the start of each college year, showing her new room and any dorm hauls.
10. Musical Bethan- Not only do I love Bethan's voice but also her videos as they are both funny and intriguing to watch. I think my all time favourite video of hers is the Annoying People On Trains video which I could not stop thinking about when I had my own hectic train journey the other day and found a number of the issues she raised crop up as well as many more.

There were a number of YouTubers that I seriously considered putting in this list and ask me in a few weeks or months and my top ten could have changed a fair bit but as of today, these are my current favourite YouTubers and the ones whose videos I look forward to watching or whose old videos I can watch time and time again and never tire of.

I know there aren't really any smaller YouTuber's channels on there, I will be doing a separate post on my favourite smaller channels as none of them quite fit into my top ten overall but there are some that I really enjoy watching.

Let me know which channels you enjoy watching and if you have any recommendations as I love stumbling across a new channel that I enjoy.

The Art Of Pretending To Be Okay

You don't want to burden anybody else with your problem... You don't want to cause anyone annoyance or sadness. So you pretend. Sometimes you can pretend so well and so often that even you start to believe it... Until one moment when it all comes crashing down. All the pain or anger rises to the surface and you can't hide it any longer. You've reached breaking point. This is when people finally start to see what's really going on and help you... Or they see it as though you've just had a bad day... Or if you're lucky and you reach that point whilst you're on your own, no one ever knows and you can fix yourself temporarily and carry on the 'I'm okay' facade.

Pretending to be okay is often used in place of actually being okay. It's so much easier to hide behind a smile or a laugh than it is to come out and say 'I'm not okay'. It can hurt when no one around you seems to realise the inner battle you're fighting and the pain you are feeling but isn't that the effect you want- if not then why hide? Why not just say it...? Because you can't... You want the help, you want someone to notice but you can't say that out loud so you spend days, weeks, months pretending that you're okay hoping that just one person will pull you aside and ask for the truth.

And then there are the occasions where you don't smile because you physically can't make yourself and whilst you try your best to pretend- it's broken and you don't know how to get it back but still you seem to be able to fool people.

What are your thoughts on this? I'm sure it's something a lot of people can relate to in some way or another. Let me know, I'd be interested to hear your opinions.

Top Ten Songs

I've been uploading a tag pretty much every Tuesday for a good few months now and whilst I have enjoyed doing them, I feel like it's time for a change before I completely run out of tags to do or I start to hate doing them. Instead, the new style of blog post that I'll be uploading on a Tuesday is a 'Top Ten' which as the name suggests will be my all time or current Top Ten of a certain category.

I thought I'd kick off this new series with my current top ten music favourites. I know I did a current music favourites post in December (here) but there have been a few new songs I've been loving since then (on top of those favourites).

1. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) by Adele- I love all of the songs on the album as I'm sure many people do but my absolute favourite is this song which not only has a great tune and vocals but also feels incredibly sassy and powerful which makes me love it even more.
2. Volcanoes by The Vamps- Again, I love a number of the songs on this album and choosing my favourites to put in this post was a challenge but this song is incredible. I feel like it has a slightly more rocky sound to it than many of the others on the album which I really like and I can never help but singalong whenever it comes on.
3. Million Words by The Vamps- This track is a lot softer and is just generally, beautiful to listen to.
4. Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time by Panic! At The Disco- Panic!'s new album is insanely good with hit after hit across a number of different styles and this one is just one of the tracks I love.
5. Crazy=Genius by Panic! At The Disco- Like the other song, this one is another of my favourites of their's; it's fast paced and exciting to listen to.
6. City Dove by Tori Kelly- Tori has an incredible voice and I really like a lot of her songs, this one in particular but I don't really know why that is, it's simply pleasant to listen to with some nice lyrics and a beautiful melody.
7. Anyway by Tori Kelly- I love the tune of this but the main thing I love about this is the lyrics.
8. Yes by Demi Lovato
9. Lionheart by Demi Lovato
10. Mr. Hughes by Demi Lovato- Demi always produces incredible albums and whilst this one is my least favourite as it's a slightly different direction to the others, it still has some amazing songs. These three are my favourites off of the album but there are a handful more that I also really love and that almost made it into my top ten.

So there we have a few more songs I've been loving recently. Let me know what music you've been enjoying as I always love to discover new songs or artists.
